About me
Although born in New York City, I was raised in England - a voracious young reader and lover of words and their power to create, to move, to explain, and to help me escape to other worlds. With my move to the U.S. (in 7th grade) I became a keen participant-observer in my new culture, fascinated by the differences in human engagement, interaction, and (especially) language and communication.
As an undergrad, I chose majors in creative writing and cultural anthropology, and then completed my master’s in technical/professional writing. My life experience and education have made me an empathetic, passionate writer and wrangler of words.

When I'm not playing with words, I'm playing with my dogs, cats, and young teenage son (while he still likes spending time with me!) or designing/crafting something... anything. Art, jewelry, mugs,
t-shirts, greeting cards, magnets, etc.
What I do for a living
I use words as a thread to weave:
-
Intent into every moment
-
Language into research
-
Simplicity into complex experiences
-
Context into cross-team outputs
-
Consistency into internal and external language
-
Accessibility and inclusivity into every decision
What makes my day
Bringing my passion to work, through:
-
Open and authentic communication
-
Empathizing with end-users
-
Inclusivity, diversity, & belonging
-
Energizing and educating others
-
Trying new things and taking risks
-
True collaboration – building on each others’ brilliance
What I offer as a digital writer
The best of two worlds
